Founded in 2017, Aquabyte is at the forefront of data-driven salmon production technology. By combining a submersible camera, which captures more than 1 million fish images daily, with advanced Machine Learning and artificial intelligence, the Aquabyte system provides producers with critical data on biomass, lice counts, fish welfare and behavior.

“The data collected by our system provides producers with information needed to make informed decisions, which affect both the welfare of fish and the profitability of the operation. This extends beyond the production of Atlantic salmon: our system also provides value-generating data for trout and smolts. In December, we launched ‘Aquabyte for Coho’, the first solution on the market for accurate data collection in coho salmon farming,” says Ignacio Onate.

Aquabyte’s coho salmon product was launched after testing with three of the leading coho salmon producers in Chile: AquaChile, Marine Farm and Salmones Austral. At its stand at AquaSur Tech, Aquabyte will showcase its two camera models, Atlas and Hammerhead, and how customers can use the Aquabyte Web Portal to easily access data provided by the system. This data provides producers with important information for making decisions, which translate into value for their companies.
