Nazca SpA, a company specialized in oceanographic, hydrographic and environmental services, will participate as an exhibitor at AquaSur Tech 2025, the aquaculture technology fair that will bring together the main players in the salmon farming, maritime-port and energy sectors on March 26 and 27 in Punta Arenas. Since its founding in 2013, the company has had services that optimize the management of marine ecosystems and the planning of coastal projects. “Our work focuses on marine engineering. We support the development of studies at sea for constructions on the coastal edge and, in the field of salmon farming, in the fine-tuning for the installation of cultivation centers,” explains Jorge Álvarez, founder and general manager of Nazca SpA. One of the pillars of the company is the incorporation of state-of-the-art technology in its work. Its lines of work include measurement of the physical dynamics of the water column, geodesy and topography, hydrodynamic modeling, underwater robotics and environmental studies. At AquaSur Tech 2025, it will present its area of underwater robotics services, with state-of-the-art ROVs capable of filming at depths of up to 280 meters and performing georeferenced inspections of marine structures. “Our new ROV incorporates advanced sonar that allows us to operate in zero visibility conditions, which greatly expands exploration and monitoring capabilities,” as well as a high-resolution camera that enables underwater photography in complete darkness, Alvarez says. Another key aspect of his exhibit will be multibeam technology for bathymetric surveys, which allows mapping the seafloor with a resolution unprecedented in the industry. “Our multibeam equipment is unique in Chile outside of SHOA, allowing us to identify in detail underwater structures, seafloor granulometry, shipwrecks and variations in seafloor morphology,” says Alvarez. This tool is key in maritime engineering projects and anchorages for the aquaculture industry. In addition, Nazca SpA integrates real-time measurements of variables such as currents, waves, tides and winds into its processes, providing fundamental information for the planning of projects on the coastal edge. “We constantly monitor coastal dynamics to provide our clients with accurate data to optimize their operations and minimize environmental impacts,” says Álvarez.
