Salmon farming is of strategic importance for the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica Region

In a ceremony held at the José Bohr Municipal Theater in Punta Arenas, the Governor of the Region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica, Jorge Flies Añón, assumed a new term of office for the years 2025-2029. During the occasion, Flies highlighted the priorities of his administration, mentioning salmon farming as one of the most relevant sectors for the development of the region.

General Aquaculture Law: The importance of legislating on the present and future of aquaculture in Chile

In the AQUASUR Tech preview, Chilean aquaculture continues to consolidate itself as one of the engines of the national economy, being the second largest export sector in the country after mining. In view of its growth, the SubPesca is working on a bill that seeks to regulate the sector in a better way, considering challenges such as climate change and sustainability.
